Map and signage
I cannot believe it! The web site www.nicecotedazur.com has DISCONTINUED their incredible, large-scale pdf maps of these trails! Or, did they only change the link? *searching*
Personally, I am still missing indications of total amount of climbing per ride.
Trail colour grading: Green is very easy, blue is easy, red is difficult and black is very difficult.
Official starting point is Parking du stade de Montgros. Hmm ... could that be "parking of the Montgros football field"?
The full distance of trail 28 is covered by trail 23, which heads off for an extra loop. And, blashphemy, the start/end is a double-back section. Eek!
The elevation profile for trail number 23 is a gentle down, then a gentle up. For trail number 28 it is the same, but even gentler.
Interconnecting trails
You could possibly hook up with trail number 10 (blue) of Colomars on the other side of the river Le Var. Personally, I am not sure I would consider it worth the effort ...
Official starting point is Parking Municipal á l'entrée du village.
At least the first half of trail number 12 overlaps with trail number 11. Trail number 11 does an extra loop into the north and northeast. Second part of trail number 12 goes south of Aspremont. Trail number 13 goes east. Its last western bit back into Aspremont it overlaps with the finishing bit of trail number 12.
The elevation profile for trail number 11 is an interesting mix of ups and down, finishing with a down. Trail number 12 has rounded ups and downs, so gentler riding. Trail number 13 is a gentle down, then long climbing with a couple of dips, then gentle descending and one short up back to the starting point.
Interconnecting trails
Trail 11 overlaps in the northwest with trails 29 and 30 (red) of Saint-Blaise. Trail number 13, in the east, provides a double-back section into Tourrette-Levens. Trail number 8 (black) of Colomars and trail number 15 (black) of Falicon both loop through village of Aspremont and are thus easily combinable with all trails of Aspremont. .
Trail number 7 (green) of Castagniers lies a bit off to the west: Close, but possibly far away enough for it to not be worth the effort to hook up with.
Notes
Caramel? What a superb name! Yes, please! I'll ride this one!
I later learned it is a misspelling ... Calamel is the correct name! Also, I would be interested in combining trail number 11 with the trails of Saint-Blaise.
Official starting point is Place de la Mairie au coeur du Village (Parking des oliviers).
This trail loops all by itself, north of Castagniers.
The elevation profile for trail number 7 show a gentle initial climb, gentle descending, short level riding, and then gentle climbing back to the starting point.
Interconnecting trails
All by itself, this loop runs west of trail number 12 (red) of Aspremont. Hooking up may not be worth the effort.
Official starting points are: A - Parking de la Madone and B - Parking du Fort Casal.
These two trails overlap (in opposite directions) and can easily be combined into one large loop.
The elevation profile for trail number 8 shows an initial up, then down, a short up and down, then up back to the starting point. For trail number 10 there is some varied level riding, a short down, varied level riding, a long down, gentle gentle climbing (almost level), then steepish climbing and a last short down back to the starting point.
Interconnecting trails
Trail number 15 (black) of Falicon rudely takes in most of these trails: It runs along their outer sides into a loop of its own. Trail number 8 overlaps with trail number 2 (red) of Aspremont and trail number 13 (red) of Tourrette-Levens.
Official starting point is Parking á l'entrée du village.
This trail seems to have a pretty long double-back section at the start/end. As this trail takes in so much of trails 8 (black) and 10 (blue) of Colomars, I would consider starting in Aspremont instead of in Falicon.
The elevation profile for trail number 15 shows an initial up, then mainly down, level, and up back to the starting point.
Interconnecting trails
This sole trail rudely rides over most of the trails number 8 (black) and 10 (blue) of Colomars. It also overlaps with trail number 12 (red) of Aspremont and trail number 13 (red) of Tourrette-Levens.
Official starting point is Parking Sainte Rosalie.
This trail loops all by itself, south of Tourrette-Levens.
The elevation profile for trail number 14 shows an easy down, level riding, and then gentle climbing back to the starting point.
Interconnecting trails
A short double-back section is provided into the west to trail number 13 of Aspremont.
Official starting points are: A: Parking du Vallon de la Cumba and B: 250, Promenade des Près.
Trail 2 runs its full distance along with trail number 1. On this short a distance, there even seems to be an alternative route as a shortcut for trail 2.
Trails 3, 4 and 18 start out together. While trail number 4 slowly heads back to the west after half its distance, trail 3 follows trail number 18 for at least one third of the full distance of trail number 18. I've said it before: I am not fond of double-back sections, and ALL of trail number 3 is a double-back section. Once it leaves trail number 18, it seems to head up to the summit of (or close thereof) Mount Férion (1,412 metres of height), after which it just trails back to the start. Last bit of trail number 4 is also a double-back section. Basically, trail number 4 is a shorter version of trail number 18.
The elevation profile for trail number 18 shows long initial climbing, followed by a varied down with some three short climbs in it. Trail number 4 is one big climb, and one big down. Trail number 1 shows gentle short ups and down, then a gentle up, followed by a gentle down back to the starting point. Trail number 2 has hardly any climbing at all in it. Trail number 3 consists of long climbing with one dip in it, then long descending, with a short up in it.
There seems to be liaison signage to trails 29 and 30 (red) of Saint-Blaise. This applies for trails number 3 and 18.
Official starting point is A l'entrée du village.
This trail can be made even shorter: An alternative route is offered as a shortcut.
The elevation profile for trail number 5 shows an initial short climb, a short down, followed by a gentle climbing curve, ending with a gentle down back to the starting point.
Interconnecting trails
This trail is easily combined with trail number 6 (red) of Saint-Martin-du-Var (which takes in most of this trail).
Official starting point is Parking de la salle polyvalente.
Trail 30 is a shorter version of trail number 29.
The elevation profile for trail number 29 shows an initial steepish down and up, then long, gentle climbing, followed by gentle descending and steepish descending back to the starting point. Trail number 30 looks the same as trail number 29.
Interconnecting trails
Both trails overlap in the south with trail number 11 (black) of Aspremont. Both trails also seem to have liaison signage to reach trails number 3 and 18 (black) of Levens. To me, in that case, the liaison from the northeast corner of trail 29 makes the most sense.
Notes
I would be interested in combining these trails with trail number 11 (black) of Aspremont.
Official starting point is La place du village
The elevation profile for trail number 6 shows long climbing interspersed by two short downs, after which it goes down all the way back to the starting point.
Interconnecting trails
This trail takes in most of trail number 5 (blue) of La Roquette-sur-Var.
Official starting point is Plateau de la Justice et place du village.
All three trails are easily combined with each other. Trail 32 overlaps at least half of its distance with trail 31.
The elevation profile for trail number 31 shows level riding, a short down and gentle climbing back to the starting point. Trail number 32 contains practically not climbing whatsoever. Trail number 33 goes down, then a long steepish up, level riding, followed by a varied down back to the starting point.
Interconnecting trails
Trail 31 overlaps maybe half its distance and trail 33 overlaps a short section with trail number 26 (black) of La Trinité.
Official starting point is Place du village (Place Jean Moulin).
All three trails start out together. Trail 17 is a shorter version of 16.
The elevation profile for trail number 26 shows an initial loooong climb, then varied down, a short climb, some level riding, and eventually a down back to the starting point. For trail number 16 it shows gentle climbing, then a long down, followed by a short up, followed by more, gentle, climbing, a short dip, then a short section up back to the starting point. Trail number 17 starts with gentle climbing, then level riding, gentle down, gentle up, gentle down, and a final almost level gentle climbing back to the starting point.
Interconnecting trails
Down in the southwest trail 26 overlaps with trail number 31 (blue) of Eze. Once trail 31 loops back to the west, trail 26 soon overlaps a short section with trail number 33 (green) of Eze.
