Trail setup

Official starting points are Hoenenveldje 2, 3798 'S GRAVENVOEREN (blue trail) and Dorpsstraat, 3793 TEUVEN (black trail).

The two loops go in clockwise direction and are easily combined with each other.

Trail signage is very good (August 2011). I would have welcomed one or two more on the longer stretches, but there were no signs missing in the (oh so crucial) turns. In fact, there were TWO signs per turn; one indicating the turn, the second one further into the turn, confirming it.

Interconnecting trails

The paper map mentioned above also takes in trails in the province Limburg (yes, same name) of the Netherlands.

Notes

I was here in August 2011. While there was too much tarmac in the east of the black loop, and a lot of gravel road in the west of the blue loop, the two loops take in some pretty fantastic trails. Lots of loose rocks and roots, very bumpy. Nothing super extreme, except maybe the hill down into Sint-Martens-Voeren. Several long climbs, climbable but made technical by loose rocks. Several long descents, with loose rocks, roots and small steps .. just the way I like it!
