Trail setup
Red loop (11 km) in the west is easily hooked up with green loop (12 km), which is easily hooked up with blue loop (15 km). Alternative starting points: Camping Floreal Kempen in Lichtaart (blue and green loop) and Kasterlee (blue loop). For overview, see www.mtbroutes.be.
Map and signage
GPS files are provided on the www.mtbroutes.be site. They are not completely accurate, stay alert and you will find even more singletrack sections, but for want of something better they are good back-up.
Official trail hosts have been appointed for these loops. Signage is nevertheless, for someone completely new to the area, not strategically enough placed to fully exclude the risk of taking the wrong turn (April 2011).
Interconnecting trails
Trails of Lille-Beerse can be hooked up with at the northwestern corner of the green loop (moreover the northeastern corner of the red loop).
Notes
This is bumpy, bendy singletrack heaven! I find green loop in particular fantastic fun with lots of ups and downs, and left and right, and semicircles, and sand (keep that front wheel light!). Amazing what excellent trails can be squeezed into small sections of forest. If these trails are man-made then the effort done is humongous! Only Lasne has so far touched me til tears in this country. And now Herentals green loop.
